To start off, I would like to point out a Great Site listed under Internet. This site has been approved by the Weekly Bookmark staff as a Nice Site. This is no attempt to rival other Cool Sites of the Day or Point's Top 5%, merely a little information for you the subscribers to encourage you to stop by this site. Unsubscriptions have changed due to the size of the subscriber list and the new instructions are at the bottom of this issue under Weekly Bookmark Information. I will be actively pursuing an inexpensive email account due to the loss of mail once again during the last week of 1995. I recovered only about half of the mail sent to me between Dec 23 and Dec 29. Most of the important ones seemed to be the victims. Until I straighten this mess out, send your message twice if you don't get a reply within a day or two. This includes submissions. __________________________________________________________ Out There Art and Literature The Writers House This is where the novelists Andre Jute, Andrew Taylor and Andrew McCoy hang out. It accidentally turned into a small website. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide variety of great Hank homepages, plus some interesting pages about famous Hanks. The Charles "Hank" Bukowski site is an exceptionally impressive resource if you are interested in the author. People named Hank are invited to add their ideas to the Hank Report; a survey designed to pool the collective wisdom of Hanks. If you're name is Hank or if you just wish it was, then you'll probably enjoy a visit. URL: http://www.mcs.net/~justhank/home/hank.html Submitted By: Marian Hank Health TransWeb How long can a liver last once it's taken out of the donor's body? Can a husband donate a kidney to his ailing wife? Do famous people like Mickey Mantle get transplants faster than everyone else? What's it like to wait for a new heart? And what is it like living with that new heart? When are the next Transplant Games going to be held? Where can I find a transplant support group? Is it true I have to sign a card to be a donor? Answers to these questions and many many more can be found in TransWeb, the first site on the web devoted exclusively to transplantation and donation. There are sections on News (including an international transplant-related events calendar), Focus on Transplant Patients, Information for Medical Professionals (links to journals, etc.), Organ and Tissue Donation: Issues and Answers, and a library & index. If you're interested in transplantation, visit TransWeb! It has been called "the Grand Central Station of transplantation."
